How To Become a Nurse Practitioner
Before you can become a Nurse Practitioner, you must complete a four year degree in nursing and then go on to get your Registered Nursing degree which is another two years.
To do this, you’ll have to pass the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEx-RN). Then you are ready to enroll in a graduate program where you can also decide to specialize in a particular field of nursing.
There will also be a residency program you’ll have to complete. This will take approximately four more years. There are two exams and depending on your area of specialty will determine which exam you’ll have to sit for.
