Get Certified as a CARN
You must be a certified Registered Nurse with three years of practice and 4,000 hours of addiction nurse practice within five years of getting certified. Experience may be from educating, consulting, researching, working as a staff nurse, or a working as a private practitioner. Find an RN program near you.

You must pass the national licensure exam for substance abuse in order to practice as a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse which is given through the Addictions Nursing Certification Board.
