To get training for any of the listed medical careers you first need to have your high school diploma or GED.
Medical Assistant
You can choose a certificate or diploma program in medical assisting, these take between 6 months and 1 year to complete. There are also associate degrees in medical assisting available at some schools, those take about 2 years to finish.
Dental Assistant
You can enter a certificate or diploma program in dental assisting, which takes approximately 9 months-1 year to complete. Like medical assisting, there are associate degrees in dental assisting available at some schools.
Health Information Specialist
There are certificate and diploma programs available for health information and medical coding careers. These programs will generally take between 6 and 15 months to complete.
Pharmacy Technician
The pharmacy technician certificate and diploma programs available from our partner schools range in length from 6 months to 15 months to complete. You could choose to stay in school for 2 years and earn an associate degree.
